I'm Joshua Conley

When I began studying photography in 2022, I did not imagine pursuing portraiture and fashion as my genre of choice. Though, after three years of studying at Collin, I fell in love with photographing people. Growing up in Texas and Louisiana, I take a lot of inspiration from the history and people within this region of the country. I wish to explore the diverse ways people identify themselves through my photography and hope to give back to my community through my work.

Since the beginning, people have doubted the role of photographers and artists alike. In today’s modern world of social media algorithms, AI and analytics, fashion photography is often disregarded as nothing more than a commodity; Aesthetics and trends with no other purpose than to sell clothing and be forgotten. Though, I believe that view to be unfair. Fashion photography has always been an artform, larger than social media trends; A language that people use to express identity and culture. As a fashion photographer myself, it is my only goal to continue that tradition.
